no, i think that kind of viewpoint is silly. you sound scared. if someone or something is not clear you ask for an explanation/clarification. the idea that you just take something in a public forum at face value w/o really understanding it -- that is exactly the mindset Fascist governments impose on their populace

for my part. i have done nothing but ask for clarification..... please, if you will, point me to the archive.org details page, i can't find it. i never said i was "owed" an explanation. i asked for one. sorry if that has made you uncomfortable.

Scared? No, just of the opinion that if you ask for an explanation and she doesn't give you one, why get upset about it? (if you weren't upset, I apologize, but the re-worked title of your post kind of gives that impression)

Oh,yeah, and bringing up a comparison of this situation and fascist opression is a little silly in my opinion. I don't think Mussolini would have really gotten into a 73 Darkstar.

so be it....

i just dont see why i have to catch flak from the peanut gallery for trying to get clarification.

it's a public forum. when the moderator modifies or deletes a post i think it is in everyone's best interest if there was an explanation. that way we (me and diana) don't keep retreading the same ground over and over. (this is like a formatting issue for chrissakes! a simple post of one photo linked to a track. the whole thing IS NOT content related.)

i am still waiting for a link to "the archive.org details page."

Should have said this in my other answer, but there is no archive.org 'details page' as in a single page with details on this and that - what Diana was referring to was the page of details, if you will, that you see whenever you link to any item in the archive, e.g. if you click on
http://www.archive.org/details/gd1971-08-06.fob-SonyECM22p.miller.88816.sbeok.flac16

it will take you to that show's 'details page'.

Hope that helps.

One other aspect to consider is to use good judgment in which particular download links you post, in line with my earlier advice to "keep the pointers to stream-only filesets here streamable (only)."

I'm guessing an internet petition wouldn't be as effective a second time around...

Where did you find that? Outstanding. That's gotta be a Trivial Pursuit question waiting to happen.

A friend of mine who is a little feat freak sent it to me.

BTW, Forest George, Lowell's son, was/is a big deadhead. Used to see him at a lot of shows on the west coast in early to late 80s.

Forrest?

Perhaps named for Forrest Tucker (played Sgt. o'Rourke on the aformentioned F-Troop)?

Can you say full circle?

I knew that you could.

Curious - is that Leary? Kinda looks like him. If so, is that his young goddaughter (winona ryder?).

Since I'm doing the family connections, anyone aware of who is Slash's godmother? (not to hijack this thread - I always love the photos you post as well as the great tunes)
